Daily Schedule

We focus every day to achieve our goals and vision for each student through continual observation and introduction of new ideas and challenges. Below is an example of our daily schedule to best equip our students on their road to success.

7:00am – 8:00am Before School Care
7:45am – 8:15am Morning Drop Off
8:15am – 8:30am Morning Line Time
Every morning Classical music signals to our students Morning Line Time is about to begin. When the music starts our students clean up and take their place on the line.
Each day begins on our “line” as we sing our Good Morning song and welcome each other with a handshake. Then we say the Pledge of Allegiance and sing our Days of the Week & Months of the Year songs to determine the date. We also introduce our monthly/weekly themes and give group Montessori presentations.
8:30am – 11:00am Montessori Work Time
During Montessori work time our teachers are guiding each student through the Montessori curriculum. Our purposefully prepared environment draws in each student to engage in meaningful work. All students receive one–on–one lessons, which are individually prepared for each child.
11:00am Half Day AM Pick Up
11:00am – 12:00pm Full Day Recess / Lunch
12:00pm Half Day PM Drop Off
12:00pm – 1:00pm Preschool / Kindergarten Lesson
Our Preschool and Kindergarten Lessons are designed to help our students transition into a more “traditional” school environment after graduating from Absorbent Minds. This portion of our Kindergarteners’ day consists of group lessons with focuses in Culture/Geography, Language, Math and Science. Preschool Lessons have a theme of the week/month and begin with a story, discussion and have an art project to support the lesson. Our Kindergarten Lessons follow the curriculum outline, which can be found on the Kindergarten page of our website.
1:00pm – 2:30pm Montessori Work Time
2:30pm – 3:00pm Chore Time
Unique to the Montessori environment is a time for students to learn to take pride in what is theirs – the classroom. At the end of each day our students take turns doing various chores such as feeding class pets, watering plants, dusting shelves, sweeping floors, vacuuming, taking out the trash, washing tables/chairs, folding towels, etc. Our students enjoy learning how to do these activities and take care of their environment.

Enrichment Activities

Kids Bop Jazz I (Ages 3 - 4 1/2)
Kids Bop Jazz II (Ages 4 1/2 - 6)
(24 lessons offered on Mondays approximately 45 min each and 2 recitals)
Music 9:00am – 10:30am and 1:00pm – 2:30pm
(Every student attending on Tuesday will receive a 1⁄2 hour lesson)
Tiny Tutus Ballet (Ages 3 - 4 1/2)
Budding Ballerinas (Ages 4 1/2 - 6)
(24 lessons offered on Wednesdays approximately 45 min each and 2 recitals)
Science 9:00am – 10:30am and 1:00pm – 2:30pm
(Every student attending on Thursday will receive a 1⁄2 hour lesson)
Art 8:30am – 10:30am and 1:00pm – 2:00pm
(Students in each class will receive a 1 hour Art lesson on Friday)
